Psychotherapeutic Counselling Office

It is often rather difficult to decide to seek counselling. Insecurity, a lack of orientation, and psychological problems during studies is, however, nothing out of the ordinary.

The Studentenwerk Potsdam founded in 1996 a psychotherapeutic counselling office to assist students with counselling needs. These include:

• exam anxiety or other forms of nervousness
• mood swings, lethargy, or difficulties learning or working
• restlessness, sleep disorders, difficulties with concentration, or bodily discomfort due to nervousness
• problems with eating habits or other pleasurable habits
• family members or partners with addiction problems
• lack of a neutral person to discuss important decisions or problems

Counselling is strictly confidential and without cost to the student.

In the first counselling sessions, it is important to discuss your current situation and past problems. Sometimes, this is enough to clear up your situation and to find proactive solutions for your problems.
