Furnishings and Amenities

Furnishings

Each room is furnished with a wardrobe, bed, desk and chair, shelf, and a mobile cabinet. The community kitchens have furnishings, a stove, and refrigerator.

Electronics, Telephone, and Cable Connection

All rooms are equipped with connections for television and telephone. In order to use television, please register with the GEZ (public television fee entity in Germany). For telephone use, one must enter into contract with a telephone service provider. There are a sufficient number of outlets in each room for electronic appliances. You must also provide your own lighting for your flat or room. You can obtain internet service by entering into contract with the University of Potsdam.

Laundry

Washrooms with washing machines and dryers are available in all houses. In order to use the machines, you must obtain a wash card for a small deposit of 10€ from the service point in the Studentenwerk Potsdam’s central office.

Trash Removal

Directly in front of the Max Kade House you will find trash containers.

Bike Storage

Students can store their bikes in rooms in the cellars of each house. There are sufficient spots to lock your bike outside as well.

Parking

A large parking lot in back of the houses provides enough space for parking.

Free Time

A small field for sports like street ball or volleyball is located nearby. There is also a chess board and table tennis table. You can relax on the fields and sun yourself or talk to your friends.
