Furnishings and Amenities

Furnishing

The rooms are fully equipped with wardrobe, bed, desk and chair, shelf, and mobile cabinet. Please bring bedding (sheets, blankets, and a pillow) with you.

Electronics, Telephone, and Cable Connection

All rooms were equipped with connections for television and telephone. In order to use television, please register with the GEZ (public television fee entity in Germany). For telephone use, one must enter into contract with a telephone service provider. There is a sufficient number of outlets in each room for electronic appliances. You must also provide your own lighting for your flat or room. In the residence hall Schillerallee, internet service is available via the University of Applied Science Wildau. In the other residence halls, internet is available via the telephone line.

Laundry

Washrooms with washing machines and dryers are available in the residence hall in Schillerallee and house 1 in Birkenallee. In order to use the machines, you must obtain a wash card for a small deposit of 10€ from the service point in the Studentenwerk Potsdam’s central office.

Trash Removal

Close to the residence halls Schillerallee and Birkenallee you will find trash containers.

Bike Storage

Students can store their bikes in rooms found in the cellar of the residence hall Birkenallee. There are bike garages for the residence hall Schillerallee outside.

Parking

Parking is located next to both houses for students.

Free Time

A workout room is located in the cellar of house 1 in the residence hall Birkenallee. A student-managed club is located in the residence hall Schillerallee.
