Delivery service starts in November in two halls of residence

The Mensa is now coming to the dormitory. The Mensa delivery service will start in November 2022 at the Potsdam locations Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße and in the Stahnsdorfer Straße student village. Students can order food from the canteen via app, pay and get it delivered to their dormitory in a vending machine on the same day.

How the canteen delivery service works

Two apps are needed for ordering. With our new app Mensa +, the residents can order and pay for the food. It is delivered in Relevo reusable dishes; the app of the same name documents the serving and return of the food. The apps are linked to each other: Before ordering for the first time, both apps have to be downloaded.

In the app "Mensa +" students can then create a profile with just a few clicks and set the language (German/English), and the payment method by SEPA direct debit or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). In addition, various filter options can be stored, e.g. for food with allergies. In the settings, the location must be set and push notifications activated. Then you are ready to go.

Order and pick up food with the app "Mensa +"

Simply place your order in the menu item "Order":

  • Click on pre-order by 9 a.m. at the latest
  • Set the collection day
  • Confirm the pick-up time
  • The meal plan opens: select the menu and click on "order".
  • The menu item shows the price (student price + 1 € for the extra charge) and the QR code for the vending machine

Pick up at the vending machine:

  • As soon as the food is deposited in the vending machine (from about 2 p.m.), you will receive a push message on your smartphone.
  • Scan the QR code of the app "Mensa +" at the vending machine.
  • It doesn't work right away? Wait a moment and try again.
  • The order can be collected until 12 noon the next day (on Fridays all weekend, as well as on public holidays).
  • More than one meal has been ordered? Each meal is distributed and removed individually.
  • The food only needs to be reheated in the microwave afterwards. Instructions on best before date and heating are provided.
