There is a lot to organize just before you start your studies. Not all students manage to find affordable accommodation in time. For the start of the winter semester 2019/20 the Studentenwerk Potsdam offers temporary accommodation for the transition period.
Who can get a temporary place to sleep?
You are eligible for a place if you are a new student at a Potsdam university and have not yet found a place to stay at the beginning of your studies. Accommodation is only available for the period of October 1st to November 30th, 2019. You must present a certificate of enrolment from a Potsdam university. Without this certificate we will not be able to provide a room.
What does a sleeping place cost?
The rental takes place on a daily basis and costs 10 € per night. You can stay for a maximum of 14 days. A deposit of 100 € will have be paid at the time of rental.
Where are the accommodations and how are they equipped?
A total of 10 sleeping places will be provided on the Unicampus Potsdam-Golm, including 4 places in the dormitory Zum Mühlenteich (LINK) and 6 places in house 7 in the Karl-Liebknecht-Straße.
In the shared guesthouse there is a simple lounger, a shared kitchen and sanitary facilities. Shower facilities are available, but are in a different house.
You must bring bedding, bed linen or a sleeping bag.
What is the rental procedure?
Check-in: Please report in person to our student dormitory administration at Babelsberger Straße 2, where the certificate of enrolment will be checked and the deposit of 100 € will be accepted. The janitors will hand over the key for the shared accommodation directly to you in the dormitory (Mon-Fri from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm).
Check-out: Please hand in the key directly to the caretakers by 9 am. For the final billing or the settlement with the deposit, please contact the staff of the student residence administration in person again.
