Are you new in the residence hall and need orientation?

Our residence worker and our residence tutors are here to support you

Our Residence Worker is available to students in the residence halls for advice and support. As a contact person on site, he is close to everyday life on campus and knows the needs of the students. He provides support in questions of good coexistence, mediates in conflicts and works out solutions together with the students. At the interface between the dormitory administration and the Counseling and Social Services Department, the Residence Worker mediates in individual problem situations. He also develops events and workshops together with the residents.

Residence Tutors

Residence tutors are students who live in the residence halls themselves and who volunteer in their free time to help all - but especially international - residents with questions. Each residence hall is assigned one or more tutors.

Residence tutors help students settle in and promote contact between German and international students. They also provide information and support on all topics related to living and studying in Potsdam, Wildau, and Brandenburg an der Havel. Moreover, they organize cultural and social events for the residents. Is that fun? You bet it is! In a short interview, our former tutor Angelina talks about her life on the Golm campus.

Important note: Our dormitory tutors can NOT help new students find a place to live. If you have any questions about housing and the application procedure for our residence halls, please contact the housing department at wohnen[at]studentenwerk-potsdam.de.

Find more details about this program in our official directive (in German).
