Everyone needs a roof over their heads

We offer reasonable student accommodations

To study far away from home and in a foreign country brings a lot of challenges. One of the greatest challenges is finding a decent place to stay. As the Studentenwerk, we offer accommodations in the residential halls which are affordable and often close to the campus. The different residential halls in Potsdam, Wildau and Brandenburg an der Havel can be found on our website. You should apply as soon as you have decided to study at one of the universities in our area of responsibility.

Note: If you are looking for an apartment of your own, you need to check the free housing market. Please keep in mind that a deposit and a commission has to be paid in most cases and that the apartments are usually rented out unfurnished.

The application for an accommodation in the residential halls can only be filed online.

Since we have more applicants than accommodations, we recommend to apply very quickly, as soon as you know you would like to study at one of the universities in our area of responsibility. Please read the public procurement directive.

After you moved in or changed your accommodation within Germany, you are obliged to re-register at the registration office of the city/county in person.

Brandenburg an der Havel
The city pays a residency bonus (Wohnsitzprämie) of 100 Euros per year to all students who change their principal place of residence to Brandenburg an der Havel. You need to file an application for each year by December 31st at the latest. The payment is made in the first quarter of the following year. The application has to be submitted to the citizen service or the district administrations. You can find the form here on the website of the city.
